Question:
What do you feel is the most compelling evidence to show that there is no need for concern about increases in methane and carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere?

Submitted by: Mike Erchenbrecher, Teacher, Pickerington High School, Ohio

Answer:
There are a number of reasons why we do not feel that the rising CO2 content of earth's atmosphere will lead to catastrophic global warming.  Many of these reasons are found in the reports we write on recently published scientific papers.  In addition to these materials, we would refer you to a recent paper by our Scientific Advisory Board member Dr. Sherwood B. Idso: "CO2-induced global warming: a skeptic's view of potential climate change," which was recently published in the journal Climate Research, Volume 10 (1998), pages 69-82.
