A sediment core from Saki Lake (~ 45.2N, 33.5E) on the Crimean Peninsula, Ukraine, revealed that "the wettest period of the past 1500 years (~AD 1050-1250) broadly coincides with the 'Medieval Warm Period' in Crimea."
