Six 20-l aquaria were used to hold nubbins of the branching coral Stylophora pistillata for 8-day experiments under three different pH and two concentrations of total DIC for each pH. Chemical treatments were achieved by continuously dripping the required amounts of NaHCO3, HCl or NaOH into each aquarium with a peristaltic pump from solutions made up daily. Bicarbonate-enriched seawater (4 mM). Measured parameter was photosynthesis.
