Sperm flagellar motility was assessed for the coral Acropora digitifera over a short time period (~ 2 seconds). 2-3 eggs were placed in 100 µl pH-adjusted seawater after which 0.5 µl sperm suspension was added and the subsequent sperm flagellar motility was recorded. Initial conditions included a pH of 8.03, seawater temperature of 26.8°C, salinity of 34.0, bicarbonate value of 1760-1815 µmol kg-1, carbonate value of 195-220 µmol kg-1, and aragonite saturation of 3.2-3.5. Experimental conditions included a pH of 7.77, bicarbonate value of 1960-2020 µmol kg-1, carbonate value of 115-140 µmol kg-1, and aragonite saturation of 1.9-2.3.
