Elevated CO2-induced Impacts on Certain Medicinal Properties of a Filamentous Cyanobacterium
(31 August 2020)
The title of the paper this review is based on pretty much says it all -- "CO2 enrichment: Enhancing antioxidant, antibacterial and anticancer activities in Arthrospira platensis"...

A Century of Drought in East Africa
(28 August 2020)
In contrast to climate alarmist theory, instead of increasing, drought magnitude and duration have actually declined in East Africa over the period 1920 to 2015...

Plant Growth Database (27 August 2020)

Wheat and Chickpea Grain and Seed Yields Under Elevated CO2
(26 August 2020)
A small 160 ppm increase in atmospheric CO2 stimulated wheat grain yields by approximately 16% and chickpea seed yields by 21%, which is good news for countries struggling to achieve and maintain food security for their growing populations...

The Non-effects of Ocean Acidification on European Sea Bass Larvae (24 August 2020)
Elevated pCO2 up to 1700 µatm had no impact of European sea bass growth, development and/or swimming capacity...

Recent Greening Trends in the Grasslands of the Northern Great Plains
(21 August 2020)
The results of this study reveal grassland vegetation in the Northern Great Plains has become increasingly more robust and water conservative in response to rising atmospheric CO2, providing support and additional proof of the greening hypothesis offered up by Dr. Sherwood Idso some four decades ago...

Insights into Coral Resilience Following a Major Bleaching Event (19 August 2020)
Corals living in a more extreme and thermally-variable intertidal habitat experienced a near complete recovery six months after a major bleaching event, whereas corals from a thermally-moderate subtidal reef did not...

A Long-term Rise in Schrenk Spruce Water Use Efficiency in Northwest China
(17 August 2020)
Since the mid-19th century, the intrinsic water use efficiency of Schrenk spruce trees in the Sayram Lake basin of northwest China have risen by 50%, thanks to a key aerial fertilizer (rising atmospheric CO2) that so many today are wrongfully claiming is an aerial pollutant. How ironic is that?...
44 Years of Precipitation Change in the Peruvian Altiplano (14 August 2020)
An examination of 11 precipitation indices from 15 locations in the Peruvian Altiplano reveals there is no evidence rising atmospheric CO2 is having any current impact on precipitation in this region...

Plant Growth Database (13 August 2020)
Our latest result of plant growth responses to atmospheric CO2 enrichment obtained from experiments described in the peer-reviewed scientific literature is for Deciduous tree species (Souza et al., 2019). To access the entire database, click here.

Soil Respiration Under a Combination of CO2, Nitrogen and Cd Treatments in a Model Forest
(12 August 2020)
In all of the treatment combinations examined by the authors of this study, annual soil respiration decreased between 15 and 34% compared to control conditions, indicating an overall increase of soil carbon sequestration...

The Interactive Effects of CO2 and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi on Oregano
(10 August 2020)
In summing up the results of this paper, the authors write the application of elevated CO2 and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi are "reliable techniques that can be used to improve growth and the nutritive and medicinal values of oregano, however their synchronous application is much more beneficial." Such a conclusions, they add, is "supported by the improved photosynthesis, nutrients uptake, biomass production and higher accumulation of primary (sugars, amino acids, fatty acids and organic acids) and secondary (phenolic acids and flavonoids) metabolites." With studies like this, it is easy to recognize the undeniable fact that atmospheric CO2 is not a pollutant, but an important aerial fertilizer capable of enhancing both the quantity and quality of Earth's vegetation...

The Combined Influence of Temperature and CO2 on Powdery Mildew Disease in Zucchini
(7 August 2020)
The authors of this study conclude increases in CO2 concentration and temperature will not likely influence the efficacy of current management strategies against powdery mildew disease on zucchini...
